To produce a more efficient materials management operation in the manufacturing environment, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is developed to automatically account for and issue raw material and – or components. By minimizing material transactions, as well as automating back flushing and scrap accounting, automating material transactions on the shop floor allows lean principles to be introduced into this area of manufacturing processes.
